Question

Just purchased a Handspring Modem from Staples for 29.90 (Whoo Clearance!)
and can't seem to get the bugger to work. I've set my dialup parameters,
but when I try to dial into my ISP (mindspring) it either A. hangs at connecting
or B. gives me a fatal error and resets.

I haven't seen anything like this on the board....anyone had
this problem? Any suggestions? I've got a Green Vdx, and have
had it since shortly after the visor was introduced.

I don't have any hands-on experience with the HS modem but I'd venture a guess that the fatal error might have something to do with battery levels... either in the module of handheld. You might want to try a fresh set. The Xircom SpringPort modem can be real finicky when its batteries get low.

Also check the OS version for your Visor.

One of the few things that Handspring did in its patches was address a few issues regarding the modem.

I bought the modem recently too and it has worked fine for me except when it is low on batteries. Though I do have trouble with all of my modules reseting my visor when I swap modules.
