I want to know, what factors do you look at when you purchase a cereal (i.e. price, nutrition, toy, etc.). Response will be greatly appreciated.

But seriously, I just try the ones that look tasty and buy them again if I liked them... I prefer the roasted musli ones (like Cruesly by Quaker, don't know if they sell that in the US..)

High in fiber and protein, low in sodium and sugar.

It's got to taste at least ok.

I save money other places besides cereal price.

I like Honey Nut Cheerios for taste.
They've been offering came CD-ROMS these days. Maybe eventually they'll offer springboards.

I have small kids, so nutrition is most important followed by taste (so they'll eat it in the first place) We usually go with Cheerios or Raisin Bran.


P.S. This was my wife's answer....I just eat what's in the pantry.

Taste doesn't matter much, because I eat cereal when I don't care. That's why I like Rasin Brand or Frosted Flakes (store brand of course)

i'll pay extra for taste.

But if i liked the taste of 2 cereals, then nutrition is the next criteria used.

Price isn't that imporant as there's usually not enough difference to really make a dent in the final shopping bill.

I'm fond of Rice & Corn Chex, but not Life (which gets soggy too quickly). If I'm in the mood (usually the week of my birthday), I'll grab a box of Cap'n Crunch. If I'm feeling ornery, only Lucky Charms will do.

I used to eat Fruit Loops until my mom wondered about the artificial colors. (Guess that's why I like Blue Moon ice cream -- because it tastes just like Fruit Loops.)

Let's see... all except Charms has little square grids for cereal shapes. Unconscious reminders of PalmOS dot-matrix letters, perhaps?

I always grab a handful of boxes on the aisle ends...the ones on sale. When it's Cinnamon Toast Crunch, I end up buying 6 boxes. If I wasn't married, I'd be eating cereal 3-meals a day.
