Off topic - sorry - but does the player you bought have a random function? I can't seem to find one that does 6GB+ of music is a lot to sort through! Thanks,

mine's a 20gb unit (takes any 9.5mm/2.5" laptop hard drive).

not sure if i know what you mean. do you mean the ability to push a button and have the player play songs randomly selected by it?

if so, yes, mine does that. push the "program" button 3 times and it will play random songs within the current directory. push it 4 times and it'll play random songs from the entire drive.

i haven't had a chance to test the unit yet. i ordered the player without the hard drive and then ordered a hd locally (worked out cheaper for me). the unit has arrived but the drive won't be here till monday or tues.

it's an mstation. check out www.my-mstation.com. i believe it is the same unit as the neo jukebox, which you can read reviews of at mp3.com. (the units look identical, but the neo ships with music match and the mstation with realplayer).

Yeah - Random like push the button four times, that looks pretty cool - I'll have to check it out. CF cards are nice, but if I'm away for a week or two - the same old tunes get really old. Thanks for the info.

Here's another one that's similar:

Lincoln...how much did you pay for your mStation? I couldn't find a price on their site.

Andy,

I paid $165 for the unit without a hard drive (ebay). It was new. I then bought a 20gb hd for $110 from ebay. So 275 total with 20gb.

i hooked the whole thing up yesterday and so far it works great. haven't had a chance to put it thru the ringer yet but we'll see, i suppose.

MensaChicken-

I don't know how your SoundsGood is doing on eBay, but Amazon.com has several buyers waiting for used units as well.

I've noticed that several SoundsGood modules have gone for over $150 lately on ebay. That's more than they were going for brand new a few months ago!
