Question

OK - Idiot question:

I'm trying to delete addresses in my address book. The Address is highlited and I do either "Command-X" or use the menu to use the "CUT" command and...nothing.

The address won't go away unless I get all the way to the "Details" for the address and hit delete.

Is this the only way to delete these????

Are you using the Mac or Windows version of the Palm Desktop (and if you're not using the Palm Desktop, what are you using?)

The "Command-X" sorta sounds like a Mac keyboard stroke...

Anyways, I can say that at least on Palm Desktop 4.0 for Windows, the CTRL (Control)-X keyboard stroke does cut the highlighted Address Book entry or entries.

I don't seem to recall having problems with this with the prior 3.1 and 3.01 versions of the Windows Palm Desktop either.

On the Handheld:
In the Address View (not the Address List): Command D (/D)

And yeah, it's kinda strange that the first 5 Edit commands (Undo, Cut, Copy, Paste, Select All) in the Address List are totally non-functional.

In Palm Desktop: Right Click, Delete.

Actually, I believe the "edit" commands are intended for text that has been hi-lighted (sp?!)

So if you want to move a phone number then hi-(theres that word again?!) "mark" it by dragging your stylus over it and then you can cut, copy, paste... etc to your hearts content.

If you will notice... the drop down menu changes once you have a phone entry pulled up on screen and changes again when you select the edit function...

It really helps to check every drop down menu in every program to learn and see what is out there.

Works the same way in memo pad... hi- (well you know) some text and then you can cut, paste or what ever else.
