My Prism flickers every 5-10 seconds while it is sitting in the cradle. I narrowed the problem down to Commander v1.46 ... once de-activated the problem goes away. Does anyone else have this problem that uses Commander?

I'm not sure you are still interested in this thread, but..
I have the same thing. Emailed Commander support but no reply so far. Its annoying and can't be very good for the screen.

yeah ... it's a shame too. Commander is my favorite launcher because of all of the built-in security and shortcut abilities. I finally decided to switch to MegaLauncher II and find something else for a security app.

I just got an email from the Commander guys. Apparently they are working on it! Here's an excerpt:

"...this problem has been reported by several
other users, and we are currently in the process of investigating it further to determine the cause.

Until we have done so, it is difficult to say when we will be able to provide a fix, but it will be incorporated into the next release as a priority."

Well, there's still hope.

Hmmm... maybe the flicker problem is limited to the Prisms? I'm using Commander on a VDX without a flicker, even though I did have some weird times when the unit would start and then immediately shut down as if I'd turned it off. It only happened once or twice, so I haven't worried too much about it.

It is defnitely a PRISM specific problem that has to do with charging the internal batteries. OnlyMe software had a similar problem; they just released version 2.15 that fixed it.

Allow me, since I am fairly new to the Visor Prism... But what is this commander program you guys are talking about? Is it automatically loaded from the factory or is it some third party application that you load yourself? I ask this because I've been noticing the annoying flicker on the Prism as well...

We are discussing a problem that occurs when using "Commander", a third-party security utility by Palmation Software (http://www.palmation.com/). It has nothing to do with the general flicker problems reported by some PRISM users - see the threads dealing with that problem. This here is only about security utilities that have a hard time with the PRISM while it is being recharged. Hope this clarifies.

This is an old thread, but I've just run into it myself. Commander Lite v1.46 causes the same problem as Commander v1.46. When charging on the cradle, every time the green LED on the Prism flashes, it is followed by a brief flicker of the screen turning on. Once the Prism is fully charged, and the LED lights solid, the screen stays off.

Just for fun, I ran a clock program while charging my Prism, and with each flash of the screen, I could see that the second hand was advancing.
