Question

I recently purchased IR link 1.5 and am trying to sync through IR...

I can't seem to make it work...
Does anybody know if it is even possible with IR Link 1.5 and win2K??

Last I checked, IR support is virtually non-existent in Win2K . . . Microsoft has an explanation somewhere, but I can't find it at the moment.

well, actually, there is a lot of IR support in Win2K.

I can beam programs to my Visor, and adresses to my laptop.

However, it looks like they changed the achitecture for IR and I could not find where to 'map' a com-port to the IR device...

Try going to:

Start/Settings/Network and Dial-up Connections/Make New Connection. Click "Next" on the first screen. On he second screen, the last option is "Connect Directly to Another Computer". This option allows you to set up a host or guest connection to your PC using the IR, serial or parallel port. I haven't tried this, just remembered seeing the IR port show up under networking.

And that was my point . . . that ability is critical to conduits (or so the vendors say).

I'm afraid so, I tried the hint from visor empowered but it did not work....

The syncing software needs a com- or USB port and the IR-port is handled like a network card...

I tried setting the sync manager to 'network' but no luck either...
