...someday down the road Handspring gave some sort of gift of appreciation for the early buyers of their product?

I just ordered mine today and feel I deserve something for ordering even after reading about all of the horror stories. I was in CompUSA today and had many PDA's to choose from and still came home, got on the web and ordered a Deluxe. That's gotta be worth something!
