I could actually unscrew the end of my stylus and use the serated end (opposite the screwdriver) as a pretty handy plucker/pick for the guitar. But if I did that I would inevitably lose the damn things.

Staples and Amazon do quite a trade with replacement Visor and Palm styluses. I've never actually lost one. How many have you lost?

Never play with your stylus whilst drunk...

I took off the tip of the stylus (the reset button side) and, for the hell of it, dropped it in the silo.

It stuck in there, rattling around.

So I unscrewed the other end and voided my warranty in search of the elusive thing (meanwhile, my buddies are looking on and laughing. Remember my state of consciousness? Not good. They even went to far as to shake me as I took the thing apart....)

Couldn't get to the place where the tip was. Put it back together. Shook it some more. It finally fell out after about 10 minutes.

VDX still plugging away!

The whole stylus? Haven't lost it, but expect to.

I lost 2 styli! First I lost the little piece of plastic that came with visor after it broke (the stylus not the visor, yet). Then I got a pen/stylus combo, and after I ran out of ink, I lost that. Then I won a stylus here (the third time Ive won something online!). Then when I dropped my visor and got a new one (or refurbished, whatever Handspring sends), I got a new little piece of plastic. So now I have 3! Does anybody want some plastic?

Only one

In 4 years of using Palms, I've only lost one, on the day I bought my Prism. I was lookingat CompUSA for a new case, and plugged my stylus into one to check the fit - and promptly left it there. Had to get a replacement set. I can hardly complain, though, since I paid $249 for the Prism (through the CompUSA $200 rebate snafu). I sold my six-week old Palm IIIxe for not much less than that on eBay.

I've only lost one. It was one from my Palm Pilot 1000.

I've worn down the tip on two from the same Pilot 1000. I used to use a post-it over the grafitti area and they get kinda flat on one side from the paper friction. Your grafitti degrades until it is annoying.

On the plus (or gaining) side, I accidentally took one from Staples once while I was testing another model (I took it back the next time I was in though).

I've been tempted more than once to do that...

Jumping Jack Flash

If you are ever jumping around on stage, working up a sweat in the limelight with your Visor and you take your stylus and flick it so that a bead of sweat flies off the tip it gives the appearance of smoke coming off the end of your stylus to the audience. Drives the chicks wild. But then they expect you to throw them the stylus at the end of the set. Way more expensive than guitar picks.

Unhappy Jinxed Myself

I knew I shouldn't have voted in this poll. I need to change my vote from 0 to one. Lost my Bullet Space Pen Stylus last night. Good thing I ordered a backup one a month ago. (I guess that "Be prepared" aspect of Boy Scouts finally paid off ) I'm off to order a new backup stylus!

:Update: Ha ha! I found the lost stylus this weekend! (The same way I usually find lost things. I gave up looking for it, and stumbled across it.) Now I can change my vote back to 0.

Double Jinxed

As inconcievable as it may seem I came back from lunch today and was minus one stylus. How do I change my vote?

I haven't lost one yet, but came close a couple times ...

I have a Fellowes/Bridge Design "Bumper" case; I'm too lazy to take the stylus out of the Visor silo everytime I put in the case so I got a pen stylus that I keep with the bumper. I once heard it clack to the floor as I was leaving the building; another time I noticed it was half-out of the groove while I was walking around. it's only a matter of time, I'm sure.

Handspring sent me one of the five-stylus packs as a reward for answering a survey, so I have five replacements waiting.

I Refused...

I refused to pay $15 at Staples for 5 sylus's in fruity colors when I only needed one, so instead I paid $13 for the Stylus/Pen Combo. I'm concerned that in using it as a pen occasionally I will increase the odds of losing it once again. Time will tell.

I lost one. But it was the nice ice white one that matches the back of my visor deluxe.

Talking on sale

I have only lost one but I was at Target today and they had the multipack of colored ones on sale for $9.99.... down from their regular $19.99.

Never lost one. Oddly enough, I lost my first VDX by leaving it for some lucky airline employee or passenger but, still have the stylus to remeber it by. I happen to leave it in my pocket. I wish it were the other way around...

I finally lost my stylus pen (see above) ...
but on a return visit to the business I thought I'd lost it at, I showed the security guard the black-tipped stylus from the 5-pack that I've been using since losing the pen, asking if anyone had turned in anything similar. Hallelujah, I got it back!
And now it sits on my desk, 'cause I finally found out why it was loose: the darn thing is slightly smaller in diameter than a "stock" stylus. A stock stylus stays in my bumper case's silo snugly.
Trouble is, now I don't have a pen handy. darn darn darn.

Lost Without Your Love

I replaced my first stylus (lost at the neighborhhod bar while eating lunch) with a Handspring Visor Pen, which snaps into my slot just as well as a standard stylus. I then left (after two months) that sylus at a Chinese restaurant. I took advantage of my trip to Staples to buy a replacement to exchange a malfunctioning USB Hub. I replaced it with a model that was, coincidently, cheaper than the original, so my new Visor Pen was free.

Frankly, I'd rather spend $12 on a pen stylus than $18 for three styluses, two of which are in fruity colors.
