Question Auto off

Is there a way to defeat auto off? I need to run a timer for more than 3 minutes at a time and it is very disconcerting for my prisim to go dark. I use Big Clock and it does a great job.
If I could defeat the auto off it would be great.

Thanks,
JBW833

Here is a great little Freeware App called AlwaysOn. It basically extends the functionality of the built in Auto-Off. You have many more time options as well as setting the PDA to AlwaysOn.

AlwaysOn at PalmGear

Not having the prism with me, but I think you can shut off auto shut off in the preference app. I think under general.

My Treo 600 is my phone, my PDA, my watch, and my MP3 player. Oh yeah, I take a picture once in a while with it. Convergence is such a great thing.

Follow this link : http://oasis.palm.com/dev/kb/faq/1428.cfm
This shows the shortcut for turning off "Auto Off". Don't experiment with the other ones unless you really know what you are doing.

The only thing I do not like about this method is having to constantly use the .Shortcut. With AlwaysOn, you can set it to AutoOff after 10 or 15 minutes and many more options. This will allow you to set it up and pretty much forget about it, but not have to worry about the battery going dead because it does not turn off on its own.

Is there an application however that will disable auto-off while charging, and flip it back automatically on when no longer in a charging cradle?

I have searched but not found...

Lightbulb Try Cesium

Cesium has great clock, timer and countdown functions and has a little auto-off checkbox in the corner.

Look for OnCradleOn on PalmGear... It has a check box: checked will set your Palm to be always on while on the cradle. I think this only works with Prism and rechargeables only, though...

Arrow Works on Visor Pro

It works on my Visor Pro too. I think it works on all OS 3.5 devices.
