I just read the nifty instructions on how to set up for IR hotsyncing for mac users. The title of the faq is "IR Sync with iMac" Do some iMacs have IR ports? I certainly don't see one on mine.

Only the first 233/RevA iMac had one...

now IR ports are standard only on PowerBooks . I have ot on my Pismo and in a snap it is very useful port. I have had to download some maps to my GPS software in my Visor on the road and the IR was very handy !

I didn't think that iMacs had ir ports. Now I just need a airport module.

IR Port

I happen to have the original iMac that was released in Fall 98. Mine has an IR port, so I commonly do the IR sync and hook up with a Powerbook.

You must have a newer iMac.

See? Newer isn't always better, although I want a new iMac...
