Question WinXP IR Hotsync?

Looking for ideas on IR Hotsync with XP. I have a Toshiba Satellite 1805S-204 w/ WinXP and a Visor Deluxe. I downloaded and installed the IR enhance package and installed the files according to Handsprings site. I also installed BeamSync. When I try to hotsync I get the message "The connection between your handheld and the desktop could not be established. etc. ". Eventually I get an icon in my Windows system tray showing IR activity but that's it. No hotsync or desktop errors. I looked through the messages and saw Win98 and Win2K help but not XP. The other OS's showed to change com port for the IR etc. but I don't see that option in XP.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
