Question

Recently purchased 8meg flash module with the hope of "saving" precious internal memory by moving Quicksheet pdb's in flash. So far, I have been uunsucessful as QS won't even startup, giving fatal expection error etc....
Can anyone comment

PDBs that need to be updated simply don't work on the Flash modules (yet? Handspring? Guys? This would be nice...). Since you mentioned that Quicksheet won't even start, I am guessing that you didn't close the spreadsheet before exiting Quicksheet, and now it's trying to open it for updating on the module. Any program that tries that will give a Fatal Error. This has been the one caveat of the Flash module since it's inception. PRCs fine. Read-only PDBs, OK. Updateable PDBs, nope.

Try moving the spreadsheet back to internal memory and opening it there. You can save space by moving the Quicksheet PRC to the module, but you need to leave the PDBs in internal memory.

Ahh, after playing with the module and QS, found a
"work around it" solution which is simply to
1) move any and all QS files to flash module
2) remove module from Visor (this is too easy)
3) QS can't reference files that aren't there....

So, I guess I can have my cake, but I can't eat it at the same time. I can free up 3-4 megs of memory for my eyemodule camera. The key is to

REMOVE FLASH MODULE < THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP

Found that this works for some other apps that "open" a direcory
