Magellan GPS Comp to Streets & Trips

I've seen different variations of this question but I am to dumb to figure out if and how this can be done.

I have a Visor Edge with the Magellan GPS Companion. My laptop has MS Streets and Trips 2002. Is it possible to get a cable to the laptop to and use the GPS with Streets & Trips? Streets & Trips has an option to configure GPS on a COM port, so I know it can accept the signal from a GPS. The big question is, can the Visor send out the GPS location to the laptop and pinpoint on the map program. If it can, do you know where to get the cables?

Any help would be appreciated. I have the maps on the Visor but I travel alot and would like to be looking at the 14inch laptop map screen instead of the tiny Visor screen.
