I'm getting pretty tired of my Prism 'blinking' on and off whenever I go from app to app. Apparently this is compensating for going from one graphic display model to another, but since so many Palm apps vary between modes, it does it all the time when I exit apps like Action Names and just about everything else. It also does it when perusing pics, playing games, etc. My IIIc didn't do this when going from B&W or grayscale mode to color, so I don't see why B&W to 256 should be doing it here, but it is.

It may not take any extra time to turn the screen off and on like this, but it's still annoying. Using LaunchEm, I can set the bit depth to 65k colors and then it won't flash when initializing CityTime or Zap!2016, but then it flashes going into any other app. It even double flashes when launching or exiting certain programs. THAT gets old fast. Also, the LE beta I'm using forgets the bit depth when exiting programs, so I get a blink no matter what mode I'm in.

This, coupled with the paint coming off, extra-smushy, smudgy screen, Casio-size thickness, high price and lack of FlashRAM is making me really regret my Handspring purchase... I wonder if they're listening?
