Have always had a desire to use a digital camera. Just plan on using it for fun, taking pictures of family, friends, etc.. and adding them to an internet site or sending via email.. and ... well to amaze my Pilot carrying friends!

Seriously, I'm looking to use it as a quick-shot camera at work. We're always looking to snap shots on the production line but nobody wants to lug a camera around with them all day. When I showed my boss the EyeModule on the web, he almost sprang for his own Visor. He said he would buy me the camera when it's available... who am I to complain?

I'd have to ditto Jon's reasons. Mainly it's fun. I carry the Visor with me like it was my right arm anyway, so it would be nice to use it for spontaneous snapshots. I'd use it to email friends pictures or show them pictures on the Visor itself. I'd use it discretely in places that don't allow photography, like the Louvre or Hooters. And last but not least, I want to make for use of the UBB's [image] tag on VisorCentral.

BTW Marcus, you wouldn't happen to have any juicy inside info on an ETA for the thing?

I will be using it like a regular camera, mostly taking pictures of my children and then sending the pictures via e-mail to the relatives. I am horrible at getting film developed and then to find a way to get the pictures on my computer...

A digital camera is a great solution, but I don't have the money right now to get one. I saw the eye module and now I can't wait to get one. My youngest child will not have to wonder why there are more pictures of his big sister than of him!

I would like to use it to record notes from the board in classes. I already take most of my notes on the Visor but diagrams are darn near impossible to copy down.

In medical application, patient photographs are in mind.
With so many charts, a printed mini-photograph in the chart would be useful to identify and remember the patient.

The web site for the eyemodule doesn't explain this topic so could you please review whether the eyemodule will be able to store images as a .jpg so that they can be attached to emails right on the visor and sent to people who will then be able to view the photo's on the PC??

I'll have to concur with the majority here in that I would use it for family/fun/personal use. My mom has a digital camera and it is pretty cool. I do have a suggestion for any visor owners that are in real estate. A digital camera (re: the eye module) is great for taking pictures of listings, especially if your office has an web page of listings.

Marcus, I too am interested in what format the pictures are stored in, how many it will hold and at what resolution, etc., etc. etc.

We use a lot of "white-boards" with the erasable markers. I think it would be useful to take pictures of the white boards to add them to our documents and to circulate them via email. I'm alittle concerned about the resolution of the module.

I also use whiteboards a lot and would think that the camera would be a great way to take snapshots before we erase the boards. I think that the resolution would be good enough to pick up most drawings / writing off of the boards.

Let us know how the eyemodule works if anyone does use one of these to snap white-board notes. I would think about using one for that as well. I teach networking classes, and there are times when I wish I could remember what I put on the board between classes. This might do the trick!

Will the eyemodule take decent pictures in low light conditions? I don't think it has flash on the module.

You're right, it's an issue. People learn new techniques--I found that you
could take pictures sideways pretty well, and I started taking them that way
all the time. It was a tradeoff, and the designers decided to keep the size
and cost as small as possible, so a fixed lens position was best.

I would use it as a polaroid type camera for location scouting for motion pictures. It would be much more usefull to me if you could write on the actual picture file after it is taken

It seems like IDEO could make a flip-up 1 x 1 cm square plastic parallax viewfinder on the top of the protruding part of the Eyemodule's body. This should allow eye-level orientation.

A small plastic sight on the barrel of the lens, as on a rifle, may also help to some extent. You couldn't compose from the borders of the frame but at least you could compose from the center. Actually, two parallel sights on the Eyemodule's body (marking the frame borders) might do the trick.

For me, it would most likely be mostly a budget digital camera for snapshots. Unfortunately, I haven't yet figured out a "business need" for it, but maybe I will try snapping photos of whiteboards & flipcharts at meetings.
