This is an offshoot of my "MacOS9 and Serial Port Monitor Problems" thread below, but a different problem, so I thought it was appropriate to start a new thread.

I was having problems with Mac OS 9 and Hotsynching where immediately after each hotsync, the serial port monitor would crash.

So, I downloaded Palm Desktop 2.5, installed everything BUT the new Hotsync support files (i did install the new Htsync Monitor).

Now what happens is that everytime I hotsync, it says it is updating Palm OS 3.1.1 and then the desktop app quits. The visor is still at version 3.1 so there is obviously something wrong with 3.1.1 and my visor.

I'm stuck. Any ideas as to how to stop it from updating to 3.1.1?

I'm stupid.

It turns out that Palm desktop 2.5 is completely compatible with the Visor...a full re-install fixed everything.

Sorry for wasting space!
