Hi,

I am planning on getting a Palm compatible for my girlfriend for Xmas (and one for myself at the same time) and am looking specifically at the Visor Deluxe. I have a number of questions which I really hope someone can answer for me - or at least point me in the right direction.

1. My GF uses a Mac at work, and I use a PC, and we have a PC at home. One of the main reasons I am looking to get a Visor is that it comes with USB support, so that she can use it on her G4 at work, I can use it on my PC at work, and we can share our diary on the PC at home (so we always know what each other is doing) However, I read that the Visor doesnt have software to sync with Mac Outlook - is there a 3rd party solution ?

2. Compatibility. I am interested in using AvantGo and CitiKey with my PDA - are there any problems with using these on the Visor ?

3. Finally - I have the option of getting the basic Visor - with just 2MB, how qucikly will that memory get used up ? Do I REALLY need to spend the extra 50 for another 6MB ???

Thanks for readijng to the bottom of this rather long question - I look forward to hearing your responses !

Anthony

I can't help you with the Mac questions... browse through the How To / Troubleshooting section and you'll probably find what you're looking for. You can also check out this search for G4.

As for the 2mb Visor, if you're going to use any 3rd party apps (like AvantGo), start with the 8mb. The only time I recommend the 2mb is when someone will only be using the core functions of the device. As soon as you discover the wealth of available software, you're going to want all that RAM. You may also want to consider a Platinum over the VDx. The speed increase is significant plus you get OS ver 3.5 versus 3.1. This is going to to allow wireless products like OmniSky to be used without any problems (many of the new wireless modules will not work on a VDx due to OS limitations).
