Exclamation

I just purchased a new Visor (not dx). I installed the Palm desktop software over my older palm descktop software (from Palm Pilot Pro) so that I can get all of my data. Upon pressing the hotsync buton i get the message "New hardware found, handspring visor..." and then thats it... nothing. I then go to Device Manager and notice that it says my Visor doesent have the drivers installed... i reinstall them from //winNT/inf/visorusb.inf and no luck, still says the drivers are missing (btw, using Win2000 pro). I then suspect the OS and boot to Win98, install the palm desktop and try to sync... same problem. I now have an empty visor and dont know what is going on... thanks in advance...

Go to www.palm.com and make sure that you have all the latest software. Go to Handspring too and get their latest. I was having trouble syncing for the first time and it was because my Visor came with outdated software.

Hope this helps!
Peace

After saying that, your system should automatically install the USB drivers. Like outlaw said though, make sure you have the latest software from handspring.

Also, run through the trouble shooting guide in the pdf file. You'll be surprised to find out how much it helps!

I had the exact same problem. And it turns out that you'll need to download the newest version of PalmDesktop. You can resolve this issue by going to handspring's site and looking at their support pages. It was pretty intuitive and only took a few minutes to fix the problem.
