Question Prism Headphone Jack Hack?

Okay, about a year ago I remember seeing a website where someone had hacked their Prism to add a headphone jack. Anyone remember this? I can't remember if he reported decent sound from the headphones or not, but I would like to find out. Anyone have a link or tip for finding it?

thanks,
Andy

Very cool. It's not the site I remember, but it's just as good. Thanks for the link.

You may also want to check out this thread. It has the link given above, and also some info on how to do the mod in a Vdx (thanks to Thorin).

I did it to mine, and the sound output is significantly better. Still not great, but much better, especially when using TealMovie and a Memplug to watch anime/movies/television shows, hehe.

Just be careful not only when doing the actual mod, but also when using your headphones. I think I actually screwed some of my hotsync port connections when the headphone jack got 'jammed' into the mobo (it IS a tight fit, and I can clearly see the damage done).

My keyboard doesn't work at all anymore (but I can still hotsync and charge just fine). The microphone on the unit is also dead, but I don't know if this was pre- or post mod (not sure if the mic is any way wired to the small "speaker", which I removed, or if it was just dead when I got it, since I had nothing to test it with). I'm forced to use a handsfree headset with my Visorphone.

I'm actually thinking of plopping down $300 to get another Prism to use as my 'main' unit, and keep this one as my 'fun' unit (to watch movies, play games, listen to music, etc).

Still hoping beyond hope that HS will announce a new color unit in the next coupla months, though.
