I installed YadaYadaHS.exe. This program flashed the Minstrel and wiped off everything leaving only an updated Email program. No more Yada launcher or browser. This is great since I hated using the old Yada browser and never cared for the Launcher.

That did not happen to me. I followed the directions on the page and after the various steps, I have the launcher and browser on my Visor and the e-mail, the filemover, "Power Switch" and "Yada CW" programs resides on my Minstrel.

Seems to be faster in general. Still trying to figure out whether the push technology of the Minstrel works or not. If nothing else, for my YadaYada mail account.

I moved some apps onto the Minstrel from my Visor Deluxe. Do I need to move them back or delete them before I can flash it with the update?

Also, I'm surprised I haven't heard more feedback on this version of YadaYada. I remember a lot of people complaining that the previous version, when released, forced you to use the YadaYada browser (this version was quickly pulled off the website and now replaced with 4.0). I haven't heard if this new version does the same thing or not. Can anyone who's downloaded the new version confirm this is no longer the case?

Ron

Forced you to use the browser or the launcher?

It still boots up to the YadaYada launcher. The first time it asks you whether you want to make it your default launcher. You can say no and say don't show me the message again. It still starts up that way, but it's much quicker and once it's up, if you tap the home silk screen icon it takes you to your default launcher. I'm now using Launcher III.

I've never had a problem using other browsers. I've used Browse-It before and I use SureWave (from JPMobile) to run PQAs from my Deluxe.
