Ok, now that I have my Thincom, my company decides to implement secure password authorization. Trouble is, Multimail Pro dosen't support it. Anyone know of a Palm OS application that will?

Can you have your company email forwarded to your personal computer and then access the mail there?

They may have Unix/Linux hosts available that you can connect to using an ssh client ( Top Gun ssh for the Palm OS - ftp://ftp.zedz.net/pub/crypto/palmpilot/TGssh-12.zip ). You would then access mail via a text-based e-mail client that runs on the host (e.g. Pine). This solution is very secure, efficient (ideal for modem connections), and it is not too hard to optimize your environment for your low res screen.

If your interested, here's Actual Software's reply to my request to add secure password authentication.

Hi,

I do not believe that MultiMail will be able to support SPA in the near future.
I am not sure, but I think that we are unable to implement SPA because it is a
Microsoft security feature and that means that Microsft would need to make the
resources available to us so that we could support this feature.

You might check out Eudora. Not sure if they support this, but their programs seem to work better with the Thincom modem than the software that comes with it. (less crashes, etc) However, they do take up your Visor memory.

I did check our Eudora, but it does not support it. However, they did say they would in the future. Multimail is the one I would want to use because it can handle attachments such as excel files that will go right into quicksheet. Bummer...
