I've not seen any mention of this particular problem that I'm having at the moment.
When I synch I'm getting an error message saying

GetUserList: One or more items in the folder you synchronised do not match. To resolve the conflicts, open the items and then try this operation again.

I even get this message when I tell the Handheld to overwrite the desktop. The Logs aren't much help either they simply tell me that the sync to Outlook Calendar, Contacts and Notes has failed.

Everything else works fine (AvantGo, PDC install and BackupBuddy)

Does anyone know a way of sorting this out ?

It's ok, I've fixed it now.
I simply needed to take a look in the pocketmirror folder in Outlook and sort out the conflict between the two versions of the Identity note that had mysteriously occured.
