Question Which memplug is fastest?

I have been looking to purchase an SD/MMC memplug for a while now since I arleady have a minijam with 2 128mb and 1 64mb mmc cards but the price has always been very high (much higher than the rest of the Memplug modules out there). When I went to COmpUSA last week I found out they had the CF and SM memplugs for 19.99 so I decided to pickup the Smart Media one since I already have a camera that uses that format and they had a good sale on the 128mb SM at the time (40 after rebate ). Now I'm finding out that the Smart Media is a little bit on the slow side and I'm wondering if it is just the media or the memplug in general that is running slow ... I'd appreciate any advice based on experience - I'm still looking at the MMC version but ONLY if it is actually faster. The one place I felt the slowness of the SM is when I was playing back a movie from the module - it was very choppy looking and I hope that the there is something faster out there.

SM cards are slower:

But SM uses a lot less power.

Very informative indeed! Exactly what I was looking for! Only thing that didn't make much sense is that the SD/MMC module will work with 128mb module but it would have to be SD? I have 2 128MMC modules by Kodak and I'm very much hoping that I'll get to use them on a memplug. Of course it would be even better if the folks at Minijam finally release the code and make it open source so that I can use the MiniJam as a storage device (as it was originally advertised)

Thanks again - BTW a tip for whoever is reading - CompUSA currently has the SM and CF Memplugs for $19.99 and the Total Recall for the same. I get a corporate discount (~cost +13%) and I got the SM for ~$18 and the total recall for $11.50!

Don't hold your breath on getting any Minijam software upgrades from Innogear. Like most former Springboard manufacturers they are dumping stocks of Springboards as fast as they can and pushing new, non-springboard products.

I thought about getting a cheap Minijam, but I wanted a black graphite one, not "ice", darn it! Oh, well, there is alway eBay!
