Unhappy

I just recieved my green VDX. This is my seventh unit. The first had a loose glass, on the next two, the display was scratched by the stylus, the next two lost the data when the batteries were changed, the last one required a soft reset almost every time I tried to turn it on......I was very frustrated. Handspring did finally refund my money when I asked the last time. I then ordered this green vdx. I hope it doesn't become a green monster. Anyone else with similar tales of woe?

Thumbs up

I haven't had any trouble with my black one, but I was curious:

Handspring refunded your money, and then you bought another one with the money they refunded, instead of getting another replacement?

Was that because you thought they were sending you refurbished units as replacements and you just wanted to try another new one?

Hmmmmmmmm......

I asked Handspring if I could get a Deluxe and pay the difference, since they wanted to send yet another replacement. They said they couldn't do that, but offered a refund of the full purchase price, then to order a VDX. I accepted that deal, because I do believe that I was recieving refurbished units.

As far as needing a soft reset every time you started the unit.. I had the same problem until I installed the DBscan program. It eliminates redundant shortcuts that are created everytime a soft reset if performed.

Which Bill do you mean? The one in the White House, the bass fisherman or the Buffalo guy?

The Bill he is referring to is the picture of Bill the Cat from the an old comic strip series (which for the life of me I can't remember the name of just now, oh well, another "senior moment".

Although I do believe that that is also a direct quote from Bill the Prez and Bill the Wannabe Inventor!!!
