-- Back-up Module (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=9375)
Good afternoon!
I was forced to do a "hard reset" via removing batteries and reinserting them after the memory was totally wiped out.
I attempted to restore the data using the back-up module, but it warned me that the module was for another handheld (most likely because my Visor's memory was completely erased.). I did not perform a "restore". Should I complete any tasks before I run the "restore" operation (such as reintalling the third-party applications such as Avantgo and Quicksheet?)
By the way, will the back-up module also restore the third-party applications themselves or will it only restore the data files of those apps?
Thanks! Looking forward to you replies!
The Backup Module restores your Visor exactly as it was before the hard reset. That includes all apps and data files. You shouldn't have to do any other tasks. Any updates, made since your last backup, should be be restored on your next hotsync.
When I did a restore on my Prism, I received a warning that HS Extensions already existed the Prism, but I told the Restore program just to ignore that.
Ignore the warning, do nothing else but restore.
The backup module is an exact copy of the memory of your Visor at the last backup: apps, data, everything!
It's the best thing since sliced bread!
