-- Freewwweb Users -- HELP! (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5450)
I just got my modem (HS), but haven't been able to connect to the Internet. The AOL software works fine, so I can chat and send e-mails (and know that the problem isn't with the modem). Freewwweb, however, connects, but gives me a DNS error whenever I try to open a web page in AvantGo. I think the problem might have to do w/ one of the settings in the details page which is accessable from the Network section of the preferences. My settings are:
Connection type: SLIP
Idle Timeout: Power off
Query DNS: Check
IP Adress: Check Automatic
Has anyone gotten Freewwweb working using these settings? Should something be different?

Nope, using PPP just gets me: "Error:PPP Timeout (0x1231)." The other two connection types actually get me connected, but don't allow me to view web pages; PPP doesn't even allow me to connect!

Ok... try PPP with Query DNS off. Also, are you using the proper DNS addresses? My FreeWWWeb settings on the desktop use:
Primary DNS: 216.70.64.1
Secondary DNS: 216.70.64.2

No luck, I still get the PPP timeout. Wow, this is really annoying! Any ideas for other ISPs compatible w/ the Visor? Maybe I'll have more luck with them.

Try the following:
PPP
Power off
Query DNS unchecked
1dns 216-70-64-1
2dns 216-70-64-2
IP checked
Hope it works.
