Does anyone here own one of the Coach cases? I brought one for my Visor, and I was surprised!

I would have loved to use this case; however, I don't like the idea of sticking a Velcro patch on my Visor. Besides that, it's an awesome, well-crafted case (like all Coach products, I gather).

The only downside to the Coach case is that the velcro patch is where the Springboard is located. I would be wary of attaching the Visor to the case by the Springboard and what if you have more than one Springboard module..?
I guess this is the main reason driving most people to avoid velcro attachment.
I have a cheap leather case ($10 from outpost.com) and while I don't really like the case, it's big advantage over cases designed for the Palm is that the receiving piece of velcro is long enough that I can stick the patch on the Visor below the Springboard.
If only I could get the Coach quality with a long mounting strip....

This might be a stupid question (Hey it's my right as an American to be anything I want) since I haven't seen the Coach case up close, but couldn't you sew a strip of velcro lower on the case? That way if you really liked the case and only minded the velcro because it was too high up and interfered with the module, you could still use the case.

My wife used to manage a Coach store and she turned me on bigtime to Coach products. They are, IMHO, the finest you can buy in leatherware. Part of having any Coach product is that it exhibits exquisite craftsmanship. Unfortunately, what this means is that if try to sew your own Velcro patch on a Coach case, it would really detract from the overall quality of the case.

If you don't mind Velcro, then perhaps a better approach would be to get more of the strips of the Velcro that sticks to the Visor so that you could put it on other springboards. I'm sure this isn't hard to find in crafts stores. In fact, the Coach case I was considering buying had an extra strip inside for attaching to the PDA (another display model only had 1). Had I bought that one, I could have had another strip for use on another springboard.

My biggest obstacle to using a case with Velcro is that when the Visor is out of the case (for whatever reason), there's always that ugly patch of Velcro on the back.

Oh well, I use a Handspring case, but if my cover slot ever cracks, I'll probably just break down and get the Coach case and the Velcro; after all, how ugly can a patch of Velcro be when your Visor is cracked?

As an aside to rtalain,
" I don't just play a leatherworker on TV, I am one".
If the case is constructed with two pieces of leather with padding, or a filler, of some kind, it would be possible to sew a velcro patch on with a curved needle (found in sewing/craft stores next to the velcro patches) without any stitches showing on the outside of the case.If you can sew a button on, you could do this without ruining the case.
Just remember, sewing leather is like driving a car- don't do it drunk.
My ignorance in this post lies not in the mod of the case, but of the actual construction of the case.
I will try to get to the Coach outlet at the Bershire Outlets to view the case myself and comment in a more informed manner (I've seen the case online and couldn't discern details)

I too love the Coach products, and ordered their slim case for my Visor. Yesterday it arrived and it is WAY too tight a fit! Technically, yes, it fits, but one has to squeeze the front and back covers together -- putting pressure on the screen -- to zip it closed. Sending it back & thinking of ordering their deluxe larger case.

I had planned on gluing the Velcro to the hard case, and then I could snap the Visro in & out of the Coach case as I wanted, and without the Velcro on it or the Springboard cover (thanks to whoever posted that idea in this forum!). In this slim case, though, that was impossible.

I'll post here if I get the larger case.

that's just the visor itself without using the hardcase to hold the velcro?
