Red face

Recently it seems that every time I remove or insert a Springboard module I have to do a soft reset on my IVX. In addition, the past two times I've backed-up on the module it's like it's wiped everything off my Visor! When I remove the module, have to reset, and turn it back on - I'm greeted with a seemingly new unit, even my username is gone!! Then I reinsert the backup module, restore everything as it was, remove the module, reset the Visor, (put the 8 meg back in that I carry all the time) and everything is wonderful - but geeeeez, what a process, especially since I always backup to the module when I change batteries, so I'm going through this every 8 or 9 days!

I'm beginning to think that this isn't the intentional design!

I had a similiar problem:

When I removed my flash module one evening, the unit went through a soft reset. I placed my backup module in the unit and it did another soft reset. What the &**%$??? After carefull examination I discovered that one of the springboard pins had broken off and was stuck in the flash module

So, any module that I tried would not communicate with the visor and caused a reset. I have since gotten the visor and flash module replaced for nothing The backup module saved the day big time!

Hope this is not your problem.

I had a similar experience. A couple emails to HS tech support resulted in a complete backup, pulling the batteries out for 30 minutes followed by reloading info from the backup module. Of course, reinsert the batteries first.

THe result. Better. Did experience lock ups, but not as often.
