-- Liberty and Afterburner on a Prism (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=10315)

Question

Is it at all beneficial to use Afterburner on a Prism to make Liberty run faster, since it already has a 33 mhz processor? If so, is Afterburner v. 3.0 safe to use on the Prism? I'll need to know before I make a desicision on whether or not to buy the version of Liberty that's packaged with Afterburner. Thanks!

With the Prism, you need something that takes you faster than afterburner. Try clockupda. It's simple to use, free and allows you to overclock upto 42mhz. you can find it on palmgear.

Afterburner now goes up to 47MHz. It works nice on my Prism.

Forgive me for being a bonehead, but, why do you overclock a palm unit like the Visor. Is the overclocking really that obvious and helpful? Just wondering.

Sanchan... well most Palm OS applications are so fast that overclocking them well show minimal difference...may not even be noticable. Certain applications: like games, Liberty for example require overclocking to run smoothly. Other applications that require searching a large database like some of the medical references, if you overclock you will notice a signicicant difference in speed.

That being said, being a "techie", I have this drive to get the most out of my Visor, so I think overclocking my Visor to maxium capability to be very cool !!
