-- Installing Visor Software under NT 4.0 Workstation? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=2312)
I tried to install the visor software at work and got the following message:
Current user rights are not sufficient for proper installation
Installation requires 'Administrator' rights. Do not install into the Administrator account, instead create or modify a user giving them 'Administrator' rights. Refer to your WindowsNT manual learn how to perform this action. Installation will now exit.
Can someone tell me what administrative rights are needed to install the visor software on Windows NT 4.0 Workstation? Will I need these rights permanently or can I be given the rights temporarily just to install the software?
Any help would be appreciated.
Dan
You need local admin rights (i.e. admin rights to your machine, you do NOT need network admin rights). You only need to have these rights added to your user account for the install of the software. After that, they should be removed.
Your tech staff should have no problem doing this. It takes less than 1 minute of their time.
BTW. The information in that dialog box is critical. Things will only work correctly if local admin rights are ADDED to your user account.
