backup using jackback and innopak
If I were to backup a 2mg Visor to the Innopak using JackBack how much memory would be left on the Innopak if the data was compressed? The reason why I'm asking is that the Innopak is only $25 at Palmgear and I can get Jackback for $10. I think it's a good alternative to back it up considering you also get the vibrating feature for alarms. Any thoughts?
Re: backup using jackback and innopak
With your 2MB Visor, I would guess a couple to several hundred K left, variable due to the compression. Keep in mind that the JackBack installation also puts the JackBack app (73K), the Visor plugin file (8K) and the ZLib compression library (31K) onto the module. So, that probably means you shouldn't have anything else on your InnoPak/2V (other than what came with it from the factory) before you run JackBack's Memory Image feature.
That holds true if you had an 8MB Visor and an 8MB Flash Module.
I would suggest that before you attempt this for the first time, back up your Visor (with BackupBuddy, USBFileMover, BackupAll, etc.) to ensure you can restore if something goes wrong. Then, install JackBack and perform the Memory Image function. It should work out well.
