-- duh, question mark? or an @, how? graffiti help. (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1829)
sorry...this is my 1st PDA. how the heck do you make a question mark? its not in the graffiti help seciont, or in the keyboard i dont think. also, is there a way to draw an @ sign, for e-mail addresses? i know that one is in the keyboard at least... is there a graffiti web page somewhere? is that "jot" program any better? i dont know much about it... thanks!
Just draw a vertical line from the graffiti area up into the main viewing area. I think this is called the "power pen stroke". You can change what this stroke does, but when I got my Visor, it launched a graffiti screen that lists all of the characters, even some that I wouldn't know when to use. Just scroll down to see them all.
A question mark is a . then the top part of a ?
Draw the @ symbol by doing a . then the letter O

for many questions and answers that have been asked and posted before.
The "?" IS on the keyboard. When you bring up the keyboard, tap the shift key and the question mark will appear in the lower right corner. As a matter of fact, a lot of the keys change when you shift.

To make the @ symbol do a dot and a circle HOWEVER, be sure to draw your circle counter clockwise.
The ? is a dot and a small backwards c with a line down (basically just tap a dot and draw a question mark) Most confusion comes from getting a ) instead of a ? (or visa versa, especially when entering telephone numbers).
The "Y" is a problem for a lot of people. I draw it like the grafitti for the letter K rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise. It works every time and it's a stroke that actually looks like a letter "Y".
thanks everyone, you guys are awesome!!
i didnt notice that when you hit shift on the keyboard it changes letters, and that there's a question mark there, thats vital...i dont use the shift button ever, since drawing a line up is so easy to capitalize anything.
but someone mentioned there is some way to draw a line up to make a question mark, dragging from graffit area to the other screen, this does nothing for me...hmmm
Andysolo:
Sorry, I probably didn't explain it well enough the first time. If you draw a vertical line from the bottom to the top of your Visor, starting in the graffiti area, it will perform a function. This function can be set by the user under Preferences/Buttons/Pen. There are actually 5 different functions that this stroke can initiate, but the one that I prefer and I believe comes set from Handspring is the Graffiti Help screen. In this one screen all of the Graffiti characters are displayed, as well as the necessary stylus stroke required to make the character. Trust me, there are some pretty obscure characters; way too many to memorize them all.
I hope this helps.
Guys!
if you tap once then make a 7 this will also make a question mark. (make the seven normally top left to right to bottom.

I see someone already asked a question that I also had (about the ? mark) but what about a ! mark? Does anyone know where to find this on the keyboard or in graffiti or know how to write it? Thanks.
Sunnie:
To make an exclamation point!
Graffiti: Basically, you write it from the bottom up....first, make a dot, then draw a vertical line from bottom to top.
Keyboard: Push the shift key. The ! is next to M.
Have a good weekend! Chris
All: Rather than take the time to send a question to this forum just to ask how to make a ? or ! or @, check out the documentation on the CD that came with your Visor. There is a section that shows you every single character you would ever need.

Guys! One additional point:
In all the data entry areas (memo, appt, etc), you can tap the menu button, tap edit and tap Graffiti help (the shortcut is an upward diagonal stroke (the "command" stroke) followed by a "g". I have used this a lot to learn graffiti, and you should be able to find just about any character you need.
BTW: I can get a "@" whether I go clockwise or counter clockwise.
