Fastest way to kill the battery.....
My battery meter won't completely charge to 100%. It only charges to like 95% each time. I thought that if I drain the battery completely and recharge it from scratch, that might help it.
What is the fastest way to drain the battery to zero?
leave back light on and complete the new vexed then have a lil game of pool and maybe a bit of solitaire.
After that study Palmasutra and experiment with a friend whilst leaving the Visor on with backlight ;-)

But you're really barking up the wrong tree. Unless you have a VDX or Platinum and are running it on NiCad batteries, your batteries do not have a "memory" effect and draining them all the way to zero won't help charge them fully.
In fact, if you have a VDX or Platinum and are using NiMH batteries, it's actually better to put smaller charges often than full charges less often. See this article.

I'm giving up on my plan to drain the battery for now. I was depleting the battery on the "replacement" unit so I thought I would try setting an alarm and have it repeat every minute up to 100 times. I agree with PDAENVY about the using sounds to help drain the battery. So I set all the alarm preferences correctly and setup a test appt. The alarm didn't seem to work, so reset the alarm again. Still it doesn't go off. It seems the alarm feature isn't working correctly, I can't get any alarms to go off. At this point I'm ready to throw the "replacement" unit out the window. Since the "replacement" unit's battery gauge was even lower then my current unit, I've decided to keep my current unit. It may not be perfect but I know everything else works on it correctly.
I feel that the battery drain idea probably won't solve the problem, just like PDAENVY said but I still want to try it eliminate it as a possibility. I installed BatteryPrefs on my original unit to see if it got any different battery readings. When the Edge is in the cradle, BatteryPrefs shows "Charge Complete". As soon as I pull the unit from the cradle it goes to 100% for a split second, then right 99% or 98%.
I know it's not much of a difference between 98% and 100% but the point is it isn't correct. Maybe this problem will lead to the battery depleting faster or not charging even worse. Now I see that it's not just my unit, the replacement unit had the same issue(actually worse, it only made it to 95%).
When I had my Visor DLX, I never had as many problems as I have had with the Edge. Seems to me like HS needs to do a little more R&D on this product before they incorporate any of the Edge features into a new device. 
*** UPDATE 2 ****
I called HS tech support regarding the battery issue to see what the official statement from tech support would be. After speaking with a product engineer, the tech said, "(lith-ion) batteries have abnormalities from one battery to the next. Some will read 99% some will read 100%. This should NOT effect your overall performance of the unit. Use the unit for the next couple of months. If you notice it getting worse, like it won't recharge above 90%, then call us and we will replace it under the warranty."
And there you go....
