I ordered my visor deluxe on 9/27. A co-worker of mine ordered his and a serial cradle on 10/4, cancelled his order on 10/7am and reordered on 10/7pm. This afternoon HE recived two Visors, we are in the Sacramento CA area. Both have the serial cradles listed as backordered, and to top it all off they charged him $249 for one unit and $269 for the other. I still have not recieved mine. I'm on hold now with HS to find out WTF.
Quite so. I ordered on the 16th and mine hasn't shipped either.
Nothing here either =(
Did he order online? Curious.
Looks like those of us who ordered on the first day are getting screwed.
Over the weekend some time a charge did get posted to my CC, so I know that my visor's making the ol' reverse oregon trail to Ohio.. and hopefully I'll get it in less time than UPS's usual 30 business day trip from cali to east coast.
He ordered over the phone, I don't know how the little freak got his so soon. I finaly got through to a CSR and was told not to expect my Visor until at least next week.
WTF? I just called Handspring and after a nice 1 hour wait, i was told that I hadnt shipped yet, even though I ordered on the 16th. And to top that, they only have 4 CSR's on staff at any given time, and they;re saying they want to double that? Gimme a break, try tripple... I live on the east coast, in Jersey, if anyone gets theirs let me know. Thanks
So much for FIFO! The real bummer is that I live 1 day door-to-door from Fremont, via UPS and I'm still waiting and I'm a first week orderer!
The only thing I have to say on this entire experience is that they had best not repeat this again. If this gross neglect for their customers is a repeated process, my Visor Delux will be the last product purchased from this company...
How can you, as a technology company this close to the new century/millennium NOT have a order tracking system in-place? Heck, I know many a person who could have written a simple one running on any number of free OSes and free DBes (even for commercial use) that would have done the trick.
But to sit on hold for hours at a time, then to get an answer and be put on hold for another 10-20 minutes while they 'research' your order is RIDICULOUS. Purely RIDICULOUS. No wonder you're sitting on hold for hours at a time, when each CSR's throughput is 4-5 in an hour, how could your hold time NOT be hours in length?
What really gets me is that I don't feel that the CSR's are helping anyone; I get the sense that they're passing along the best information that they can come up with and moving on to the next person. I actually called to see if my Visor had shipped and to cancel it if it hadn't (due to financial circumstances) and was told that (after waiting an extra 20 minutes) my order had already gone to shipping. The primary reason I feel the CSR was giving me a line was because I only ordered a week or so ago, and the 20 minute wait seemed to imply that she was 'attempting' to follow some paper trail.
I can't believe this at all.
