-- Pin configuration for bottom of Visor anyone? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=778)
Does anyone know what the pin configuration is for the syncronization connector on the bottom of the visor?
I read somewhere that the Palm has a standard 9-pin serial port that can be used with external serial port devices (external modem). Is the same true for the visor? If so, what are the pin configurations and does this mean that the visor can be used with USB devices?

After reading the doc, I'm still not sure if the Visor's USB connectors can be used with USB devices. It seems doubtful though unless someone wrote drivers for USB devices for the Visor.
I am certain however that the serial interface on the visor can be used with other devices.
Interesting fact, one of the pins on the Visor is designed specifically for keyboards.

Hmm.. Actually, the Visor only has 8 pins for it's cradle connector...
The standard serial port has 9 pins...

Cyrus,
The bare minimum for serial is 3 pins, TX,RX, and ground. That's what the visor has. You may (depending on your serial device) need to tie a couple of the signaling lines together to get it to work.
The KBD pin, when tied to ground, causes the visor to interpret incoming data on the RD pin as keyboard data. Interestingly enough, it is also tied to GND for a serial hotsync.
I don't think the Visor can drive other USB devices.
From what I've heard, No, you can't drive other USB Devices from the Visor, USB Uses a Slave/Master type control structure, and the Visor/Cradle is a Slave device, which can't control other devices. If anyone knows of some way to use a regular serial modem with the visor, do tell
I'm trying to figure out how to try out my visor on the internet.
