-- Considering Visor... (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=370)
... over Palm VII ?? I'm not seeing any real good comparisons besides price. The most important feature to me is Wireless Communications, how much more do I pay to have this ability on the Visor? And based on what I'm reading here I may have to wait a *while* for the Visor to arrive? Yes, a $200 price difference is a lot, but what accessories would I need to buy to make the Visor comparable?
Thanks for any input!

You would need a wireless modem for the Visor. Presently there is no Spingboard Wireless Modem although there are reports of one in production. If you need Wireless now then you really can only choose the VII. The only other option is a Novatel Mistrell from http://www.novatelwireless.com That would be compatable with a III series unit.
Aha! I see... That springboard modem by handspring is NOT wireless?! <sigh> AND it's $129??!! I'd have to sit around with my fingers crossed that somebody would develop one and sell it for a reasonable price then wouldn't I??!! Anyobody here thinking about making one ;-)

If enough Visors sell, there _will_ be a wireless modem. The maker of such a Springboard could gouge into Palm.net big time, b/c cellular is still MUCH more affordable than Palm.net
Sassy, one of the developers has demo'ed a prototype wireless modem (along with 5 other features) in a sort of swiss army knife springboard, but it's still a prototype, I believe.
If you absolutely have to have a wireless palm now... go with the VII.
Hey! Put down those rifles, folks! Y'know, I'm still one of the Visor-loyalists, but reality is, well, reality. We can all dream of tomorrow, but the needs of Today sometimes are more important.
Quick clarification here.
The "Swiss Army Knife" six-pack from Innogear, as rumored, does have a cellular modem. However, a cellular modem requires a cell phone for connectivity.
Also has a regular modem, flashing LED for alarm, vibration alarm, voice recorder and 8M onboard ram. Nice device.
But to be completely wireless, you need a wire hooked up to a cell phone.
Had the same misunderstanding myself...

I wouldn't worry too much about eventual availibility of wireless modem...sales already @50000
