-- will this work if i buy the memplug? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=13817)

I have a database file that i made with isilo's free web page converter. It is 8.5 megs.

1st: will isilo read off the card?
2nd: can i get the database get on the card somehow even though i dont have enough space on my visor?
3rd: does it appear that apps are gonna be able to read off the card sometime soon, or will i be stuck?
4th: does the backup function work the same way as handsprings back up module, or does it allow for me to hold other stuff on the same card?

Thanks a ton,
Jeff

No, the following programs support reading off the card: PiMover, gMovie, and CSpotRun

If you buy a SmartMedia reader for your computer ($30-$50) then you can copy files directly to the card.

PiTech has a developers program with all the stuff nessecary to enable MemPlug functions in programs, send e-mails to your favorite developers requesting this feature!

It creates a folder for the backup so you can store other files on the card, of course you'll probably need to get a card larger than 8mb for this to be usefull.

Just want to add CspotRun can read some of the same iSilo docs, I have now uninstalled iSilo because CspotRun can do this.

Really? What determines whether the iSilo doc is readable by CSpotRun? Do links within the iSilo docs work?

I think the creator tag has to be the generic palm-doc type, and I don't think links are supported.. I never used that feature in iSilo, so I can't speak from there. All I can say is the docs I used to read in iSilo, I can read in CSpotRun, if you are curious, download the normal (free) CSpotRun.PRC (look on www.palmgear.com) and try it out with your documents you already have installed.

Are these docs that you converted using their program or ones you've downloaded? iSilo can read both standard Palm Docs (Like CSpotRun can) as well as iSilo format.

honestly I don't recall, it was a while ago, and there were a mix of them, some iSilo, some Aportis, some ?, etc.. That's why I suggested they get the free, normal, version of CSpotRun and try it.
