Question

Hi, I have been the owner of a Palm III for over a year, and the time has come for a new handheld. I've been more than pleased with Palm's customer support, but I like Handspring's idea of the springboard module. However, after doing some market research, I've heard nightmares about Handspring's support team. Here's a small list:

The screen seemed by most to be easily scratchable (something I don't care about, I have WriteRIGHT)
The case was of poor construction and of poor quality.
The screen was cheap
Handspring refused to send replacements they had promised earlier.
Handspring would not return defective models
Handspring messed up the shipping and would not pay for the difference in shipping costs.
Handspring's support team is simply "college kids waiting for their next smoking break"

these complaints I've read all over the internet more than once. While I do not plan on buying from Handspring.com, I am wondering if any Visor owners have had trouble with Handspring like this.

Thanks,
~bblue

i've had no such probs with handspring returns--on the contrary, i've been quite impressed with fast replacement.

Well, it's been sounding good, so I placed an order for a blue visor deluxe, and a Targus keyboard. I'll see how it goes.

Sent it Back

I am currently on my third VDX (Ice). Every glitch I have encountered has led to a cheerfully replaced unit. Of course, that probably says something about the products overall quality too.

The original unit I bought used off of Ebay at CHristmad is so long gone now that I get a real kick out of it.

Yep, Handspring speedily replaced my Prism whose screen had gone black, even though it was used and I had purchased from someone on eBay! When my Dad said my sister, (the soon-to-be doctor) wanted a PDA, I insisted on getting a Visor Deluxe!

RE:

that's good, because eBay's where I'm getting it from! ha!
