-- My Visor syncs again (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1757)
"TechGod", you are the man! I've been fighting with my Visor for a week now to get it to sync, even on two different computers, I was assuming it was the cradle...paper clip reset and we're syncing again.
MANY THANKS to TechGod for this one...should be part of the FAQs.
Ditto for me. My unit quit syncing USB (worked fine on the serial cradle at work) and I spent 45 mintues on the phone with MS trying to figure out what was wrong with my USB configuration. I read what dkirk did and tried it and my unit decided to sync again as well. Three cheers for paper clips!
(And for course TechG_d and dkirk!!!)

I had a similar problem this morning and tried the soft reset, which didn't work. The handspring site recommends shutting down hot sync manager and starting it back up, which also didn't work. I went to device manager and looked at my usb info and found that an error icon had shown up, and the details said something about the device was not responding to the driver, contact the hardware company. I rebooted my computer first (not wanting to spend all thanksgiving on hold with handspring) and that fixed the problem. So if this is happening to you and the paper clip fails, try Ctrl-Alt-Del!
I also had the same problem. Using the paperclip reset on the back solved it for me. I would have done that sooner, but I was under the impression that a paperclip reset (known as a soft reset) would kill all of the data on my Visor. I was wrong. According to the Handspring Quick Reference guide that comes along with the Visor, it states "A soft reset does not affect your data" (page 18) This solved my problems when nothing else would.
