got mine today
I got my my visorphone today and have literally only had time to make one call. Thereceiver of that call complained that I sounded tinny and far away (while using the built in ear peice and microphone). Does anyone know about any microphone settings?

Well, I'll be hung if I can find the site again, but apparently there's a German company (of all things) developing a line of cellfone Springboard modules that can have an assortment of features, including data, GPS, and the like. The attachment looked a bit bulky in the dev photos they had, but it will be tri-band/global though designed primarily for Euro users. Anybody else out there heard of this company/module? From the sounds of the discussions about the VisorPhone/SB1000, and my plans to work abroad in the near future, I think I'll be holding out for this little wonder...
Could we have the URL for the German company?
Thanks

VisorPhone Sound Quality
The only problem I've experienced with my new VisorPhone was waiting for it to arrive.
Due to the bad press for the HS supplied headset I didn't even use it once.
I have tried three 3rd party headset units: -
(2.1) Jabra not bad but consining to drawer (cant return this as Ive had it a long time).
(2.2) Motorola retractable - very nice design, but so-so sound quality keeping it though as it's pocketable and discreet.
(2.3) Plantronics M145 - excellent sound quality -
AND has an inline switch with mute / volume controls AND a tone control switch for the microphone.
This is the unit, IMHO.
BTW, using Prism / VisorPhone without headset works great.
don't let this happen to you!
i just learned this the hard way.
when you order the visorphone over handspring's website, as you are filling in all the required forms, DO NOT put any punctuation in the form fields (commas, periods, dashes, etc.). use only 0-9 and a-z or your order will fail the mandatory credit check.
handspring's customer service clued me in when i called to complain.
Alternative phone for Visor
Guess I don't have to be hung after all..
The 3rd contender for a mobilefone Springboard is from Blue Impact AG at www.blue-impact.com
Contrary to my last post, the TellMan (Blue's module) won't be tri-band, but will use various, customizable networks and features (gsm, cdma, gps, utms(?) as well as offering additional flash storage space. Check out the specs, looks interesting..
The only downsides I can see to this module are
1) Will we ever see it here in the States?
2) the thing is HUGE! and looks like it's styling was inspired by the German rail system.. Hopefully the final draft will be less boxy.
Enjoy!
