Question

I just started using Outlook (before I used Netscape).
Now I wanted to start using the Mail on my Visor.
I tried to setup the Mail software but I get the following message:
"The profile for Outlook was not configured properly, you will not be able to finish Mail setup untill a profile has been succesfully setup. Do you want to return to the profile setup?"
When I click on "yes", I get the same message again and again and again.....
What profile do they mean, where can I set it up and how????
Thanks.

I'm assuming you've already setup Outlook and are able to send and receive email properly?

That being the case, make sure Outlook is your default email client. If you have Internet Explorer, go into Tools, Options, Programs, and make sure Outlook is specified as the email app. If you're using Netscape, I'm not sure how to specify the default email client.

I can select Outlook Express instead of Outlook to configure Mail. That works.
Then it asks if Express can be my default mail app. (no thanks, I use Outlook).
When I select Outlook instead of Outlook Express then the problem starts pops up again.
I deleted Express, but Outlook didn,t like that.

What version of Outlook are you using? What mode: Corporate Workgroup or Internet Mail Only (check in Help, About)? It sounds like you don't have a default profile (CW) or default account (IMO) established.

Lightbulb

Installing SR1 for MS Office 2000 did the trick: everything is working fine now.
Thanks for thr effort.
