-- Does Prism/Platinum still use those removable covers? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=8689)
I don't like 'em. They're a pain in the butt, and I wish they'd figure out a way to design the removal cover such that you can use the Visor with the cover still attached... like a Star Trek communicator from the original series.
The rechargeable battery idea is great, but when are we going to be rid of those covers? Ick!!
[Pardon me while I wipe drool off after reading the article about the Platinum.]

According to the Pen Computing review foo figher posted in another thread, Platinum comes with the same black removable cover. Prism does not come with any plastic cover since it's too thick & curvy on the back to use the same one.

the only thing i hate about Visors...
the only thing i hate about Visors is those removable covers
it's true you are in the street with 2 thing in your hand + the cellphone !?
i need an extra hand !!!
i mean it is kind of stupid to make these covers which are useless
Why didn't they make something like for the palmV ???

The Palm V's hardcase is a great design, but it'd be hard to engineer that for something the shape of the Prism. It relies too much on that extra stylus slot.
The old cover will fit on the front of the Prism, but not the back. The little slot is still there.
I wish they'd put in the little slots for a flip-open cover, a la the Palm III series. That's still my favorite solution.

Interesting... I just got my "production" Visor Prism today (I'd been playing with a prototype, which didn't include a cover) and discovered that it does ship with the faceplate cover.
However, (1) it's black, and (2) it no longer fits on the back of unit. So you'll have to put it down, or just "hold" it loosely behind the Prism as you use it.

PDAEnvy, "You know, you can snap the cover onto the back of your Visor or Visor deluxe and only carry '1 thing'."
Well this is true, but the problem I run into is I have something in one hand, like a cellphone, or laptop bag, and then I pull my Visor out with the other hand, now for the dillema. How do you take the cover off with one hand and snap it onto the back. I like the Palm 3 cover too. If they could do something like that, oh and have the cover be clear. Actually here's an idea. Make a device jut that that game boy cover adapter for the Visor only clear and full screen. Just like the cover, only instead of ice, make it clear. then add little buttons to the bottom that when you press them they would in turn press the buttons on the Visor, just like the gameboy cover. That way, you could have you visor protected by the screen cover but still be able to do the basic like look up a number or appointment, and you could of course do this one handed. Even if you couldn't do the button thing you coul actually just cut out the button part and have it wrap around to the bottom.
Come on, I can't believe with such a big market someone couldn't do this. The did it for the Gameboy cover, and thats not a huge market.
Hmmm, I might call around and see if this would be possible. What do you guys think. Could something like this sell?

the Rhodiana case fits the Prism snuggly. Im hoping that it will stretch.
Also, I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations about protecting the screen.
