Did ya see the new treo? i thought it wasnt going to be announced until the 15?
pretty darn pricey?

I WANT THE COLOR TREO NOWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The word on the streets is that Handspring may offer an upgrade policy for current Visor Phone customers to receive the Treo at a discounted price. I went to the Jeff Hawkins clip on the Handspring website -- it's worth watching. I am amazed at how small these new devices are compared to the present run of Palm OS PDAs. I can't wait to get my hands on the Treo 270 in mid-2002.

Gimme a bluetooth handheld...

I hope they can integrate bluetooth into a colour Edge or some other new colour Visor. GPRS/Bluetooth phones are already out here in Asia and Europe. It's very likely that I will have a GPRS/Bluetooth phone before the Treo even comes out. Besides.. I do more communications with sms/email messages (like most people do here in Korea and Malaysia) then talking on the phone.

Except for the lack of a springport module, the Treo though could be very popular here in Asia where people really like to do messaging and emails on their phones and have a lot of interest in PDAs (highest growth regions for PDAs). It is by far smaller than the offerings than I've seen which use WinCE (in Korea) and use of PalmOS and 16mbs of memory beats any proprietary solutions out already. It will however be competing with the Samsung PalmOS PDA phone which will be in colour which will be out sooner.

4th/1st Quarter of the end of this year and early next year should be interesting for phone/pda devices.
