-- Which GPS Module Are You Waiting For? (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=5509)
Which GPS Module are you waiting for? At first I couldn't wait for HandyGPS, but Navicom's delays and after seeing the Geode at PC Expo I will wait for the Geode.
I'm am definately waiting for the Geode!!
Well, I've been all hyped up for the HandyGPS about as long as anyone. (remember when their site said January/February release!) Well, like many of you, I got an email today addressed to the "pre-order" customers for the unit. The main text is below, but the quick and dirty.... it doesn't actually say "the module is now shipping". It just uses annoying phrases like "once this process is complete, shipments will begin immediately"... whatever that means.
just my $.02

Thank you once again for your interest in HandyGPSTM! We are excited to tell you that shipment process is about to begin.
The payment method of choice is credit card but the credit card processing system will not be ready until the end of July. As an
alternative, we have decided to accept checks or money order for those of you who have been eagerly waiting to get your
HandyGPSTM as soon as possible.
So, if you choose to send checks or money order, please fill out the following form, print it out and send it back to us at the
following address with a check or money order payable to Nexian, Inc. Once the process is complete, your orders will be
shipped immediately.
---------
Actually, now that I've read it again..... sounds like it's still not ready to ship until late July, but they're hoping to get some gullible people to send checks blindly, filling the Nexian coffers a bit. Give me a break.

Everyone seems to prefer the Geode. I've looked at both websites and can't see why it's better. Opinions?
Does either unit have parallel acquisition?
Does either one do breadcrumb tracking?
Does either one allow more waypoints than the other?
Thanks!
