My IVDx arrived Wed 1/19/00. I haven't stopped playing with it since! This thing is way c l...

I've installed several apps, hacks, games, etc. The only thing that's seemed to have caused any problems so far was DiddleBug (numerous lock-ups requiring soft resets - locks-up went away after removing)... has anyone else had problems with this app?

There are a few minor (very minor) things that I'm not completely happy with:

1) By itself (without the cover on the back) the Visor doesn't sit "flat" on the desktop... it rocks slightly top to bottom. No big deal since it's mostly in my hand, but somewhat annoying.

2) The Springboard cover comes off too easily. The VDx goes into my belt case screen side in (towards my body). When grabbing it to remove, my fingers are on the SB cover and if it hangs slightly in the case, the cover slides off leaving the Visor behind in the case. Again, no big problem, just annoying. Makes me wonder, though, if the modules slip out that easily as well?

3) The Sync Cradle (USB which has worked EVERYTIME since setting up) is way to light. It moves around too much when inserting and removing the VDx. I'm contemplating popping it open and placing some sort of weight in there to help hold it in place (thinking of raiding the old tackle box and melting some lead sinkers into a little square).

4) The Graffiti area is not backlit... no big deal but it would be nice if the icons were done in a glow-in-the-dark style... now that would be neat.

All in all, this IVDx is a very nice, solid device. Been the envy of the office for the past two days, not to mention that at first glance, everyone "thinks" I'm playing with a GameBoy.

Since this is my first PDA, I have no reference point or past experience but I'm starting to wonder how I survived so long without one of these things.

After reading through VisorCentral for the past month or so, I was skeptical about the Visor until I convinced myself that, a) the OS was proven... b) the Visor's "step-brother" (ie Palm) was proven... and... c) the price simply could not be beat.

I highly recommend the VDx... oh, and my experience with Handspring? Completely satisfied. I ordered via Web at 9:00 pm on a Friday and received it at 2:15 pm the following Wednesday (argue if you want, but in my book that's TWO days turnaround - order was processed on Monday, unit received Wednesday - unless HS does a weekend thing)

Now, excuse me, my Visor needs my attention (or do I need its???)

The Visor were shown on CNN News this morning also. Very Cool coverage I may add.
Maybe CNN News can re-run it a couple of times, so maybe I can record it with my VCR next time :-) and other folks can catch it.

The first thing I did when I got mine was to open up the cradles (serial and USB) and put in a lump of metal. Luckily there's quite a bit of space in there to get some weight in. Once you do that, it's much better. No more taking the cradle with you after a hot sync..!

I just lean the top of my BVD towards me when I remove it from the cradle. This way it never pulls the cradle up with it. :-)

I bought both the back up and the 8MB flash modules when I ordered my Visor and have been using them both over two months with no problems with them coming out. The modules are solid units as opposed to the cover which, obviously, is not.
Hope that answers that question for you.
