Twice a year a discussion breaks out about automatic daylight saving time adjustment. However this discussion always breaks out after the time shift occurs, too late for people to do anything about it. So, this time, I thought it might be nice to start the discussion off before it is an issue, so people can prepare. (At least for those people in the United States.)

In past discussions it appears that:

I could be wrong on these points; I based this on a very quick scan on the past discussions. I personally use DST Panel and am very happy with it.

Thumbs up Very nicely done!

Wow! Very nicely put together. I put foward another happy DST Panel user. I've used it on my VDX for over a year now, and it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

I'd like to add that the Daylight Savings Hack 2.1.3 works on my Visor Deluxe.

I tried to bring up the incompatibility list here on VC to see what was said on DSHack, but couldn't... the link returns me to the home page. Perhaps earlier versions had issues but 2.1.3 worked last year on my Deluxe.

I have BackupBuddy configured to synchronize my Visor's time with my WinNT machine's time. I just let WinNT handle the dst change. Since I sync at least once a day, this method works for me.

I also time-synchronize my Visor to my WinNT machine. However that would be my machine at work. Therefore, for all of Sunday and for the morning of Monday my Visor would be off.

I also use this method. Along with YATS32 on my PC, everything is synchronized to the exact time.

panari

Here in Europe, we changed to DST last sunday.
I was also shocked to discover that my Visor had not automatically made the change...
So I added 1 hout using the pref panel, but at the next hotsync BackupBuddy changed it back... I figured out I had to change the "adjust for DST" setting in the TimeSync app on the Palm device. Now things work as they should.
I installed DSTpanel, I hope it changes back to winter time correctly when the time comes.

DShack 2.1.2 worked happily on my VPL here in the UK last Sunday. Let's see what happens with 2.1.3
