minijam shipping

i received e-mail from innogear today stating that if i ordered my minijam on 7-20 or after that it would be 6 wks before i received it and that this applied to me.

i checked my order date and it was 7-11, so i e-mailed them back with this info. their reply?? it would be shipping this wk. WHO KNOWS???????

Nobody really knows. I sometimes wonder if they know. 6 weeks? This is really trying my patience. But I'm still hanging in there.

I e-mailed Innogear yesterday, to find out when it would be shipped if I ordered one. So far, no response... Guess it's better than a bogus response !

Just Arrived!

Mine just showed up. I really dig it. I was debating weather or not to cancel it over the last few weeks, but it showed up at the office this morning, I loaded some songs up to it (took about 30 minutes to do a full 64 meg), and took a walk with it on during my lunchbreak. Now, I'm happy I decided to keep it. The sound quality is the most impressive thing about it. The size is also smaller than I expected it to be. I'm a happy camper.

pskerrett, EricG congratulations to you and all others who have received your MiniJams! And to all of you who received yours but have kept quiet about it--please let us know!

BTW if you have received your unit and plan to post let us know what your order number was.

PS: EricG, thanx for the review of your unit. It makes me more anxious to get mine. Question--how was the bass and treble response while playing it in your truck.

Minijam & Bass

The bass seems pretty good, I haven't done a great deal of fiddling with the setting on the trucks radio and the minijam's audio settings.. My truck just has the standard Chevy factory setup. For the record I am not much of a (picky) audiophile so my impressions may be different than yours. I'll do some testing and really play with the setting and crank the volume and see how the bass responds.. :-) I've mostly used the minijam with a good pair of "digital" rated headphones from one of my portable CD players.. It's pretty hard to tell the difference between the minijam and a CD (except the minijam doesn't skip!). The minjam has several preset EQ settings as well as user defined ones, you can cycle thru them with a button on the top of the minjam.

It's does take about 25-30 mins to "MJ Load" over a full 64mbs of data.. So make sure you have a fresh pair of batteries or fully charged NiMH's before hand. Like I said in one of my first posts, my primary use for the minijam will be palm data storage (and mp3's ;-) !!).. So I am looking forward to the software update & the USB MMC card reader. I have already put the 2mb of free flash ram space on the minijam to good use. I'll probably get an additional 16 or 32 mb MMC card for palm data only.. Put that in the "B" slot, (the B slot is on the belly of the minijam, the A slot is on the back {A is the one you see in the photos}). A is spring loaded. To get at the B slot you have to take the minijam out of the springboard slot.

I like the fact the MJ Loader is independent of the Hoysync application, as all my MP3's are on my 700mhz desktop, but I have to hotsync with my P166 (yikes!) work laptop.. Since we use Notes for e-mail at work, I really can't hotsync with two different computers, well you can, I'm just to lazy to futz with it. The MJ Loader doesn't suffer from this since it doesn't use the hotsync program. Would be nice if it was faster.

Order Status Change

I just checked my account on the Innogear page (9/18/2000) and it has changed to "Shipped". My order number is in the low 1600 range.

Still no Minijam but I just got a message that my SoundsGood player shipped today! Yeah! I'll let you all know what I think of it. I'm going to cancel my Minijam order tomorrow and wait until Innogear comes out with a separate file storage module.

I checked my order status today-9/19- and no change and my order number is 1518. Called Innogear and they say they haven't gotten to my number yet but I should expect to receive my Minijam in 2 weeks. Are you sure your order number is in 1600's.

Minijam shipping another bunch?

My order number was 1522 (order date 7/11), and my status also changed yesterday to "shipped". Will post again if a box actually arrives.

My Ice MiniJam with 64 meg just arrived; I'm at work and won't be actually plugging it in until later.

Just posting this to help assure people they are finally shipping.

Judging by the messages, I probably cancelled my Minijam order the day it was supposed to ship (yesterday). Drat, I kind of wanted to take a look at it. But alas, I received my SoundsGood player yesterday and couldn't really afford TWO players. Stay tuned to hear a similar amount of buzz about the new MP3 player in town. They haven't even started shipping officially and I already have one. That's a definite plus. Also, it's soooooooo small. I'm amazed that something so small could sound so good. Loaded it with songs yesterday in just over 4 minutes. Sound quality is excellent, ear buds are...whatever (I've got so many headphone like things already that it doesn't matter), user interface is beautiful. I'm in love with it!

The website indicated this morning that my order number, 1766, has shipped. When I called for a tracking number, I was told that it would actually ship at midnight. I can't wait...
