-- Visor sucking the life out of batteries.. (http://discussion.visorcentral.com/vcforum/showthread.php?threadid=1736)
I got a Visor for my business partner and it sucks the batteries completely dry. we went through 3 sets of brand new batteries. We are going to send it back for another.
Anyone else have this problem?
It's the kind of thing that makes you want to say, "Hello Palm V, ciao Visor!" The only reason that I went with the Visor is that the Palm V is not going to be much of an upgrade from the Palm that I currently use. At least with with the Visor there is a hope that there will be some exciting springboards in the future.

DonD,
A little more info would help us help you.
What type of battery are you using?
How long does a new set of batteries last?
How much are you using the Visor?
Are you running any unusual apps?
Do you store the Visor in the HotSync Cradle when not in use?
Do you use the backlight much?
Do you have any Springboards attached?
Do you have the "Beam Receive" on or off?
sdavida's right about the beam receive being on.
I use NiMH batteries so I didn't care that much, but I had to replace them every few days. After turning off the beam receive I can go about 2 weeks now (I still use it heavily.. at least the woman does who thinks it's a glorified gameboy).
To answer the questions...
Q.What type of battery are you using?

A.Totally factory default apps.
Q.Do you store the Visor in the HotSync cradle when not in use?
A.No.
Q.Do you use the backlight much?
A.No.
Q.Do you have any Springboards attached?

Mine's been burning through alkalines in about a week but I've since switched to NiMH. I'm planning to try using VCal Hack to check whether my volt meter is off. I also just turned beam receive off.
