Worthwhile spending
I voted before including a few items including the Visor itself. I have no real regrets:
Visor Deluxe $250
8 mb module $ 80
Stowaway $ 76 (including shipping/tax)
StarTac cable $ 36 (including shipping)
DocToGo $ 50
Targus Case $ 20
Fisher Bullet
Stylus $ 20
Write Rights $ 25 (???)
AAA batteries $ 12 (borrowed from reply above -
but 1 pack has lasted 6 months)
Grand Total

(Too bad I can't submit my poll again!)
Except for the initial Visor and the Visor phone I have not paid full price for any module, getting them on sale at Compusa or with rebate. (backup, flash, Xircom modem, Eyemodule1)

So far the list for me is:
Prism ~ 300
Stowaway ~ 100
Backup module ~ 40
Flip Clip ~ 15
Minstrel modem with service ~ 480 (service contract)
EB slipper ~ 30
Extea Cradel ~ 20 (for Visor Deluxe, then modified)
Total ~ (too much)
So in the end, I've spent WAY too much on my visor considering it was meant to be a small excursion in the begenning.
BEN
Rounding things off, so far...
Basics:
200- Visor (Deluxe, Ice)
100- Stowaway keyboard
30- Matchbook drive
30- 16Mb CompactFlash card
20- "Visor for Dummies"
20- "Everything you wanted to... Visor" (I ordered the 'Dummies', then saw the 'Everything' in the store, figured I'd keep one and return the other, but like both. Sheesh!
20- cheap cases (2 under $10 from Amazon.com, 1 from Duluth Trading. OK, but what I really needed was the...
30- RhinoSkin 1100 case
75- software (WordSmith, MobileDB, MyBible, FileMover, etc.)
20- 5 pack of styli, and clearance 4-in-1 stylus pen
30- WriteRights and cleaning kit.
$575 total (so far!)
On-Going:
Batteries, I buy Walgreens or Sanyo on-sale. Read Consumer Reports article on batteries- many of these 'off brands' are made by the big boys and last just as well for a fraction fo the cost!
Future:
- Probably another case, such as a slipper or shock case
- An IRdA attachment to let me beam to my existing printer AND/OR an IRdA ready portable printer (Canon BJC-50, 55, or 85, probaly used or rebuilt)
- A way to hot-sych at work (computer does not have USB, OR a free serial port, and is on a network. Gota be a way!)
- A way to hot-synch on my old lap-top, preferably USB (to standardize cables, etc.)
- Whatever modules go on sale when I have some $$ after all this!
Regrets:
- The books. After reading them both, being here, and visiting a few other sites, I am not sure I needed either of them!
- The Matchbook drive set-up. I wonder if I should have gone with a back-up module instead. The CF card does protrude just a tad, and prevents the snap cover from being on the back, etc.
- The intial cases. Although not a lot of $$, I shoulda waited and analysed my needs better.
I really don't want to think about this, so I'm not going to included numbers (and it's a mix of $'s and 's):
Hardware
VDx
EB Slipper case
ThinModem (bought from eBay)
MatchBookDrive
32Mb CF Card
PCMCIA CF Adapter
Nokia 6210 GSM mobile
Batteries
Software
Hackmaster
Findhack
IRLink
Docs To Go
Project@Hand
QuickSheet
Quick Office upgrade
MultiMail Pro Bundle
WordSmith
iSilo
InstallBuddy
JackBack
CF drivers
Palmscape
Regrets
I've had a few, but then again too few to mention.
There's probably other stuff I'm forgetting, as well.

I'd really prefer not to think about it.
Ah, what the hell. I'm rounding off on these numbers, because I'm too lazy to really look up what I really spent.
Visor Deluxe - $240 something.
Visor Prism - $449

Total: Over $1,500.
On the credit side, I think I'm going to sell my original Deluxe and maybe the Springport, so I'll recoupe something. On the debit side, I'll probably use the dough I get from selling that stuff to buy a Thinmodem+.
