Found the solution to my inability to sync with Outlook Calendar.
Went to Chapura site, updated PocketMirror to v2.05, then used their on-line support.
Using keyword "conduit error" I found the solution: Somehow [no memory of doing this - probably another "senior moment"
] Outlook was no longer my default mail application. Changed that to Outlook, and did a sync - no problems!
